Planned Giving Advisory Council
The concept of the Planned Giving Advisory Council was originated in 1979 when a dozen local professionals grouped their expertise and pledged their support to what was then Morton Plant Foundation. Since then, membership has grown to more than 170 members representing the interests of each of our hospitals – Morton Plant, Mease Countryside and Dunedin, and Morton Plant North Bay.
Members serve as advocates of the hospitals, educating friends, clients and colleagues about Morton Plant Mease’s accomplishments, programs and priorities. Our membership is diverse and represents a well-respected group of local professionals who volunteer their assistance in
establishing major and planned gifts, including attorneys, certified public accountants, trust officers, investment advisors, stockbrokers, chartered life underwriters, certified financial planners, chartered financial consultants and real estate brokers.
Council members work with the Foundation to provide donors with ideas, information and suggestions on how to increase income, reduce their capital gains taxes and reduce estate costs and taxes for their heirs – while supporting their charitable interests at the same time.
Their efforts have helped raise millions of dollars in gifts, with millions more documented for future support of our not-for-profit hospitals of Morton Plant Mease Health Care. We are pleased to recommend any of these Council members to our grateful patients and friends interested in incorporating charitable giving into their financial and estate plans.
